Islam in Vietnam is primarily the religion of the Cham people, an Austronesian minority ethnic group; however, roughly one-third of Muslims in Vietnam are of other ethnic groups.[1][2] There is also a community, which describes itself as of mixed ethnic origins (Cham, Khmer, Malay, Minang, Viet, Chinese, and Arab), that practices Islam and is also known as the Cham, or Cham Muslims, around the region of Châu Đốc in the Southwest. The Muslim community counted only just 1% of Vietnamese population which is about 99 million people. Even though the community has been suffering under communist oppression, the Vietnamese regard the Muslim community with a favorable opinion due to its tolerance approach.

Dakwah in Myanmar

Myanmar Muslim population has fallen from 3.9 percent of the overall population in the 1983 census to just 2.3 percent -- a figure that does not include around 1.2 million mostly Rohingya Muslims in western Rakhine State -- who were not enumerated. In Myanmar, 89.8 percent registered as Buddhist, 6.3 percent as Christian, 2.3 percent as Muslim, 0.5 percent as Hindu, 0.8 percent as Animist, 0.2 percent as "other" and 0.1 percent as having no religion, according to the report. Of the country’s 51 million population, 1.15 millions registered as "Muslim". Unofficially the Muslim could be about 2.35 millions, which is about 4.6% of population.
